DOVA--Nina.

97, actor, singer, guitarist, died February 1 in the Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood, NJ. Born in London, England she arrived in New York City at age 3. She studied modern dance with Martha Graham among others. During and after WWII she traveled as an entertainer with the USO. While studying for a concert career as a singer, guitarist and actor, she was a featured performer on Canadian television. After concertizing for many years as a solo artist specializing in international folk and art songs, acting became a more serious career choice. Nina studied acting with both Stella Adler and Uta Hagen. She did not consider herself to be a professional actor until she earned enough to qualify for unemployment insurance. She succeeded and went on to perform in dinner theater, regional theater, off Broadway, seven Broadway shows, TV soaps and TV commercials. For many years she volunteered to teach commercial acting technique for TV workshops at the SAG/AFTRA Conservatory. The three idols of her youth were Lawrence Olivier, Leonard Bernstein, and Louis Jourdan, all of whom she succeeded in working with. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Stanley Koor.
