Biography of Tonpei HIDARI :

Hidari, whose real name was Michihiro Hidaki, began with appearances in"Jikan-Desuyo"and"Terauchi Kantaro Ikka"(Kantaro Terauchi and his family), two television series. were successful in the 1970s.

He also appeared in the film"Narayama Bushiko"(La Ballade de Narayama), directed in 1983 by Shohei Imamura and won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival the same year.

Hidari, originally from Tokyo, started out as a singer in 1973 with"Tonpei's Hey You Blues".
