The extraordinarily gifted jazz guitarist Ned Sutherland died last week, and his memorial was held in Bangalow on Friday.
Ned moved up from Sydney after a successful musical career, which included playing in the Channel Nine band on Ray Martin’s Midday Show.
Settling in Eureka to start a Macadamia farm, Ned was also a sideman for Jo Jo Smith’s Hip Pocket.
His two sons, Michael and Dean, formed the acid hip-hop funk band Skunkhour.
Ned is pictured with his art, which he turned to later in life.
