CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland native Danny Breen, an actor and Hollywood producer, died after a seven-year battle with cancer, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He was 67.
Breen was a veteran of the Chicago-based Second City comedy theater. He performed with George Wendt, Tim Kazurinsky and Jim Belushi in a series of Second City revues beginning in 1979, the Sun-Times said.
The Second City Facebook page paid tribute to Breen calling him the "nicest guy ever." He eventually moved to Los Angeles where he wrote and acted in the satirical HBO news show "Not Necessarily the News"
He appeared The Wonder Years, Full House, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Drew Carey Show. He served as producer for the The Wayne Brady Show and the popular improv comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway.
He is survived by his children Spencer and Riley Breen, according to Second City.
