Experimental filmmaker and visual artist Paul Clipson dies

  A memorial fund has been set up for the San Francisco-based artist, who worked with musicians like Grouper, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma and Sarah Davachi.

   

   

   

  American filmmaker Paul Clipson has died. A GoFundMe page set up in Clipson's name said that the San Francisco artist "passed unexpectedly from this world" on Saturday, February 3rd. Clipson was well-regarded for his Super 8mm and 16mm short films, many of which were soundtracked by artists like Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, Lawrence English, Tarentel and Barn Owl. He also collaborated with musicians like Grouper, Sarah Davachi, Felicia Atkinson, Rene Hell and Machinefabriek to produce visuals for live performances, in addition to making installation art and charcoal drawings.
