Frank Carl Elia, 71, Omaha, NE, died January 13, 2018 at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center, Bergan Mercy in Omaha. He was born March 17, 1946 in Omaha. He married Sylvia Claassen on March 16, 1968 at the Beatrice Mennonite Church.  Frank graduated from Benson High School in Omaha, graduated from Rhema Bible College in Oklahoma. He was Senior Pastor of Good Report Christian Center for 40 years, owner of Aelia’s House of Cigars, and Velvet Glove Transport Company. Frank was the lead singer & guitar for the “Coachmen” (Hit song, “Mr. Moon” and others) and was the music director for Teen Challenge Lighthouse Youth Ministry.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; sons, Peter Elia and wife Amy; John Elia;   Tony Elia and wife Heather all of Omaha; grandchildren,  Andrew, Marianna, Isaac, Ethan, Samantha, Evangeline and Tristan ; brother John Elia and wife Bobbi of  Hot Springs, ARK; mother-in-law, Elfriede Claassen of Beatrice; brother-in-law, Mark Claassen and wife Julie of Lakewood, CO; niece and nephews;  Charissa Claassen of Denver, CO;  Joshua Claassen of Denver; Sheri Elia and Jeff Elia of Hot Springs, Ark, Heather Claassen Hambrick of Lufkin, TX; many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, Peter and Sebastiana “Nettie” (Laguzza) Elia; step-father, Everett Weston; father-in-law Arthur Claassen
