Kaoru FUNAHASHI was born in 1913 in Tottori Prefecture.
He comes from a family of followers of Omoto religion and is close to Morihei Ueshiba. At 18 he beganto Kobukan Dojo and became one of his first Uchideshi. Small, Kaoru has a very flexible body and fall excellently. At that time the founder said about him: "I betnobody has better drops than Funahashi". In 1933 he participated as Uke, to Miss Takako KUNIGOSHI sketches for the book Budo Renshu. This illustrated book is the first technical manual of Master UESHIBA and is primarily intended for students of the founder as a teaching license. Until the mid-30s, he taught actively in the Budo Senyokai, as an instructor assistant in the great dojo of Takeda's and Osaka. After this period, it disappears from the scene and it no longer has his new until his death in 1940.Unfortunately he contracted pleurisy which developed into lung disease and took it to the age of 37. Kaoru FUNAHASHI was one of the oldest Uchideshi Kobukan Dojo where he began in 1931. Thesepartners then defined it as a sincere man with soft character. Small in stature he was good at practice,but died very young as a result of lung disease. |
