Li Boguang

 

Li Boguang (Chinese: 李柏光; pinyin: Lǐ Bóguāng; October 1968 – 26 February 2018) was a Chinese legal scholar and human rights activist. He was the director of the Quimin Research Institute in Beijing.[3] Li supported farmers seeking compensation for confiscated farmland. He was arrested in 2004 following his involvement in the Tangshan protest.[4]

Li died on 26 February 2018 of liver cancer on 26 February 2018 at the age of 49.[5] His death has raised questions as to whether the Chinese government was responsible for his death.[6] His death has been compared to Liu Xiaobo.[7]
